Safe arrival for 10 month stay

We have arrived with two elderly cats to stay put here for 10 months and see all the seasons out except for the hottest July/August days.

Tigger age 19 in his favourite chair specially shipped out for him

Pinky age 17 settling down but both are feeling the heat - 37 deg in the shade in the afternoons but with a humidity of 20 compared with 67 in the Uk when we left home. We took them to the local vet for a check over after their journey who said it would take them a few weeks to acclimatise to the changes in their new environment.

We decided in May that we would have four chickens here so our friend bought 4 chicks in the market for us then and has been looking after them for us and bringing them into lay.

We collected them three days ago and installed them in one of the old pig sties since when they have given us four eggs! We know that they are just eggs to everyone else but when they are your own they do become just that big special and they sure do taste that way.

Naturally we have named them and they are Dorothy, Tikka Masala and the twins Irene and Betty. When they have settled down we shall let them out during the day to wander about knowing that they will soon return when we approach with either water melon or lettuce which are their favourites and which they devour rapidly
